Catherine Cameron

With more than 30 years of experience as a business leader and communications executive, Catherine brings deep expertise in business strategy, internal and external communications, marketing communications, and reputation and crisis management.

 

Known for her integrity, insight, and unwavering professionalism, she has built a reputation for cultivating trust and enduring relationships across boardrooms, teams, and communities.​ Catherine is a strategic advisor, leadership coach, and accomplished speaker. She is equally at ease guiding C-suite executives through complex challenges and supporting teams in strengthening culture from within. Her work combines strategic clarity, creative innovation, and emotional intelligence, empowering leaders to refine their voice, strengthen their impact, and lead with confidence.​

 

Her academic foundation includes studies in English, Psychology, and Corporate Communications, complemented by advanced programs at Yale University (Psychology), the University of North Texas (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access), the University of Florida (Healing Arts), Howard University (Project Management), the University of Copenhagen (Sustainable Development), and the University of Alberta (Workplace Psychological Health and Safety). She has also completed specialized training in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution through a leading business school in France, as well as trauma-informed practice training through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This education informs her commitment to creating safe, supportive, and empowering environments for learning, growth, and leadership development.​

 

In addition, Catherine has earned Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) credentials in Human Resource Associate, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Compliance and Risk Management, Learning and Development, and Employee Relations, Safety, and Compliance. These certifications complement her expertise in organizational effectiveness, workplace culture, leadership development, and people-centred change.​ Catherine has held senior roles across the health care, agency, and non-profit sectors, including positions with Michael Garron Hospital, Hill & Knowlton Canada, ParticipACTION, and as Executive Director of a national charity. She has also taught marketing communications and research to postgraduate students and is a frequent guest lecturer.

 

In 1998, she founded PR+, now CAMERON Communications, where she continues to lead with integrity and purpose.​In addition to her corporate practice, Catherine is a trained art therapy practitioner and professional artist. Her trauma-informed work supports individuals, particularly survivors, in shaping and sharing their stories with courage, dignity, and impact.​Based in Toronto, CAMERON Communications serves clients across Canada and is recognized for strategic insight, enduring partnerships, and results that create lasting value.​ Catherine is also an active volunteer, supporting causes that include animal welfare, food security, youth mental health, human rights, and victim services.
